Buying & Orders
What is the minimum order quantity (MOQ) for cashew kernels?
We accept minimum orders from 1 × 20-foot container, which holds around 12.5 metric tons of vacuum-packed cashew kernels in tins. For raw cashew nuts (RCN), MOQ is typically 1 × 20-foot container of around 17 to 18 metric tons in woven polypropylene bags. Larger contract volumes and split-grade containers are negotiated case-by-case — contact us with your requirement.
Which cashew grades do you supply?
We supply the full international range of cashew kernel grades — W180, W210, W240, W320 and W450 white wholes; SW (scorched whole) sized the same as the white series (SW240, SW320 and so on); WS and SS splits; LWP and SWP pieces; plus raw cashew nuts in shell (RCN). Each grade is graded and counted before despatch so the contract grade and the delivered grade match.

Yes — we send pre-shipment samples on request. Tell us the grade, intended use and destination and we'll arrange a representative sample drawn across the lot. Samples are an honest reflection of the kernel you will receive at scale.
What payment terms do you accept?
Standard B2B export terms — Letter of Credit (LC at sight) and Telegraphic Transfer (TT), typically structured as a deposit at contract with balance against shipping documents. Specific terms depend on order size and buyer history; contact us to discuss.
Quality & Compliance
What is the moisture standard for your kernels?
Cashew kernels are held to a maximum of 5 per cent moisture content for export — the standard that protects flavour and shelf life through transit. Raw cashew nuts (RCN) are dried to 8 to 10 per cent moisture before bagging, the window that prevents aflatoxin while keeping the kernel sound.
How do you control aflatoxin?
Aflatoxin prevention is a chain of controls that starts at the farm — drying on raised racks and clean tarpaulins, moisture verification before bagging, and laboratory testing on representative samples before every shipment.
EU food law sets maximum aflatoxin levels for ready-to-eat tree nuts at 2 µg/kg for B1 and 4 µg/kg for total aflatoxins, with higher tolerances for nuts intended for further processing. We test against the limit set by the destination market and document results back to the specific lot.
See our aflatoxin control systemWhat certifications does your processing facility hold?
TBS (Tanzania Bureau of Standards) certified processing. Additional food-safety programme alignment is tied to lot and destination — contact us with your buyer programme requirements and we'll confirm what we can document for your contract.
Can you supply single-origin lots?
Yes. Every container is tied to specific southern Tanzanian districts — Mtwara, Lindi, Ruvuma or Tunduru — and to a harvest window inside the October to January season. That traceability is how we hold kernel grade and out-turn consistent across repeat orders.
Why single-origin sourcing mattersShipping & Logistics
Which port do you ship from?
Primarily Mtwara Port — the deep-sea gateway for southern Tanzania's cashew belt — and Dar es Salaam Port for routes that benefit from broader vessel options. We quote FOB by default; CIF and CFR terms are available on request.
What are typical transit times from Tanzania?
Container vessels from Tanzanian ports typically reach the Persian Gulf in 10 to 14 days, the Indian subcontinent in 14 to 21 days, Southeast Asia in 21 to 28 days, and northern Europe in 30 to 35 days. Actual transit depends on direct service versus transshipment, and we plan packing and desiccant accordingly.
Full packing & shipping guideHow are kernels packaged for export?
Cashew kernels ship in vacuum-packed, gas-flushed tins of 10 kg net weight, packed inside cartons and loaded into 20-foot containers lined with kraft paper. Raw cashew nuts move in woven polypropylene bags of around 80 kg each. Alternative packaging formats — flexi-pouches, bulk bags — are available on request.
What documentation do you provide with each shipment?
Commercial invoice and a detailed packing list with lot numbers, certificate of origin, phytosanitary certificate, aflatoxin and quality test reports tied to the shipped lots, bill of lading, and full container loading details. Processing facility certification references are included on request.
Seasonality & Markets
When is the Tanzanian cashew harvest?
The southern Tanzania cashew harvest runs from October through January, with flowering beginning in June and July. Early-season nuts are typically drier and grade well; mid-season carries the highest volume and the most contract flexibility; late-season lots need closer moisture and out-turn checks as humidity rises.
Inside the cashew seasonCan you supply year-round?
Yes — cashew kernels processed during and after the harvest are stored under controlled conditions and shipped throughout the year. Raw cashew nut (RCN) supply is most concentrated from October through March, when the new crop is moving.
Which countries do you currently export to?
Active export markets include India, the United Arab Emirates, Vietnam and Egypt, with shipments also moving into broader Asian, Middle Eastern and European markets. Contact us with your destination port and we'll confirm routing, lead time and any documentation specific to your jurisdiction.
