A cashew kernel can survive an ocean voyage in perfect condition — or arrive flat and stale. The difference is almost entirely down to packing decisions made before the container leaves the port.
Protecting the kernel
Kernels are vacuum-packed in food-grade tins or pouches, often flushed with nitrogen and carbon dioxide. Removing oxygen keeps the natural oils from turning and locks in freshness for the whole journey.
Loading the container
- Cartons palletised and strapped to prevent shifting in transit.
- Container liners and desiccant bags to manage humidity at sea.
- Clear lot marking so every pallet stays traceable on arrival.
Ask any prospective supplier exactly how they pack and load. The answer tells you more about quality than any brochure.
